In one way or the other, most of us have or had the trouble of finding that first job. Right after college, the adrenaline is rushing, and everyone is eager to find decent employment. First things first, to land that career you've always dreamed of, you have to know and be aware of what employers want.
It is easier to set job hunting criteria for yourself but once you step into the professional world, you have to set your criteria according to what employers want. It might come as a surprise but most companies need people who are flexible, people who they think might be an asset to their company, people who are highly skilled. Don't worry if you think you don't have any of those qualities mentioned. Today, you are to learn the art of finding a job.
The next thing you must do is research the company you are being interviewed for. There was a man who was on his way to a possible job interview when he saw an older man who met a little accident. This older man was on his way to work as well. This younger man did not even have the slightest hesitation to help him out; until he found out they were headed on the same building. Not knowing who he was, he helped the older man get to his feet and separated ways on the entrance. As he was hurrying to get to the interview room, he was surprised to see that the older man he helped was the head of the company. You can guess what happened next. Knowing the company helps you not only in your interview, but can be an unexpected boost in the right situation.
Create a package of yourself. Think of the possible ways to make your application stand out. Identify qualities you have that may contribute to the company you are applying for. You are marketing yourself to all possible employers. The most important thing to remember at this part is you have to be what you wrote in your application. There are people who admit they are half the person they write in their application just to stand out. Employers will soon find out that you are not.
Friends are always there to cheer you up when you get fired and they are always there to give you a pat on the back if you need it. Ask your closest friends to give a little feedback of your work attitudes and skills. It's all a matter of perspective. You think you are a certain way, but other people might see otherwise and help you understand your weaknesses and strengths better.
